Many studies have been done on the impact of retail Big Boxes all over the country. Well be using this space to summarize some of them and links for you to follow to learn more. Its up to all of us who care about our town to educate ourselves in order to make an informed decision about the impact that Big Boxes will have on our town, our way of life, and our finances.
The Hometown Advantage (newrules.org) has an extensive amount of information that is summarized and links out to the original studies a great place to start your research.
Konover Development has been vague about the size of the retail park that they wish to develop. At the Watertown Town Council meeting held on March 6, Konover CEO Mike Goman said that it would be somewhere between 200,000 and 800,000 sq. ft.
